The short version: The Collective Perspective is a membership social network for verified adults, available in supported countries. One real person gets one account. You can use a free account, or full access (the membership) for $4.99 a month or $49 a year, which you can cancel any time. SENSE credits are in-app credits with no cash value. Be decent, follow the Community Guidelines, and don't post anything illegal. Washington law applies, there's no arbitration clause, and claims are individual only. The Service is provided as is, our liability is limited, and you release us from claims about other members' conduct (Sections 17A, 19 to 21), to the fullest extent the law allows.
1. Who we are
The Collective Perspective (the "Service") is run by Molly Ann Graham, an individual doing business as The Collective Perspective ("we", "us"). We plan to move the Service into a Washington limited liability company, and we'll tell you when that happens. Contact us at support@thecollectiveperspective.com. Legal notices and requests from law enforcement go to legal@thecollectiveperspective.com.
Adults only. You must be 18 or older. The Service isn't for anyone under 18, and we close accounts we learn belong to a minor.
Where it's offered. The Service is available in supported countries; in some countries you'll see a waitlist for now. It isn't available in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus or the Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, because of U.S. sanctions or because our payment provider doesn't serve them. You're responsible for following the laws where you live. Where the Service is offered can change at any time.
A real individual. No businesses, bots or shared accounts.
Sanctions. You must not be on a U.S. sanctions list. We check members' names against the U.S. Treasury's OFAC sanctions lists at sign-up, after the face scan, before creator payouts and daily. A possible match puts the account on hold until we review it. If a match is confirmed, we close the account and handle any money as U.S. law requires, which can mean blocking it instead of refunding it.
Don't use a VPN, proxy or false details to get around where the Service is offered, the age rule or screening.
3. One person, one account
Every account belongs to one verified, real person, and each person may have only one account. You can't create, buy, sell, share or lend accounts, or let someone else complete verification for you.
To enforce this, the face scan checks your face against members who are already verified, and we keep a one-way code made from your ID that stops the same ID being used again, even after an account is closed. We also block disposable email addresses and variations of an email already in use, and check whether the same payment card or payout bank account appears on more than one account. A second account is denied, and its membership payment is refunded. Accounts we reasonably believe are duplicates, impersonations or obtained by fraud may be suspended or banned. Because each account is tied to one person, a ban applies to the person, not just the account.
4. Your account
You confirm an email address you control, and you sign in with a password or a passkey. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out of sign-up and the waitlist. Give accurate information, keep your password and devices secure, and tell us at support@thecollectiveperspective.com straight away if you think someone else got into your account. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
5. Free accounts, membership and the face scan
Free accounts. Anyone eligible can open a free account. You give your date of birth to confirm you're 18 or older, confirm your email, and pass our bot and duplicate-email checks; there's no face scan. Free accounts can write text posts, like, comment, share and message, with daily limits we show in the app (currently 3 posts, 20 comments and 20 messages a day), and can message only members who follow them or who messaged them first. Free accounts don't receive, hold, send or spend SENSE credits, can't earn money (no tips, creator subscriptions, payouts or paid communities), and can't use photos or video, live Conversations, calls, groups or Dating. We may change free-account limits at any time. In some countries only free accounts are available for now.
Upgrading. When a free member starts the membership, the face scan and all duplicate-account checks run, and SENSE credits start only from that point under Section 9. Nothing is credited for time spent on a free account. Invites made while on a free account are saved and can pay out later under Section 9.
Price. Membership is $4.99 a month or $49 a year (USD), plus any tax that applies. If your card is in another currency, your bank may convert the amount and charge its own fees. Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's secure checkout page; we never see your full card number.
Pay first, then scan. You pay for membership before the one-time face scan, because each scan costs us money. The scan is run by our identity provider, Didit: a photo of your ID, a live selfie, a face match, a duplicate check and device and IP checks. You'll be asked for your consent first (see the Biometric Privacy Notice).
3 attempts. If you can't be verified after 3 attempts, we cancel the membership and refund it in full. If the scan shows you already have an account, the new membership is cancelled and refunded in full. If a result needs a person to look at it, your account stays locked until we decide.
Under 18. If we learn a member is under 18, we close the account and refund the membership.
Your SENSE at signup and your monthly SENSE credits start only once your membership is active and you're verified.
6. Renewal, cancelling and price changes
Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and Stripe charges your saved payment method, until you cancel.
Cancel any time. Use Manage membership on your profile, which opens Stripe's secure billing page, or email support@thecollectiveperspective.com and we'll cancel it for you. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for; you keep member features until then and you won't be charged again.
Yearly reminder. If you're on the yearly plan, we'll email you a reminder about 15 days before it renews.
Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies to you. It takes effect at your next renewal after that notice, so you can cancel first if you don't want to continue.
7. Refunds
In short: monthly memberships aren't refunded for part of a month; yearly memberships get a full refund if you ask within 14 days of the charge; accounts terminated for breaking the rules don't get a refund; and we always give any refund the law requires. The full rules, including SENSE purchases and creator subscriptions, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8. If your membership ends
If you cancel, a payment fails or your membership otherwise ends, member-only features pause, such as live rooms and anything involving SENSE. You can still sign in. Creator subscriptions are separate purchases from the creator: they keep running, and keep renewing, until you cancel them. Your SENSE stays in your account but is frozen: it can't be used, sent or received, and no monthly SENSE credits are added while you're not a member. When you rejoin, your SENSE balance is available again. We don't delete your account just because your membership ended; you can ask us to delete it at any time (Section 18).
9. SENSE credits
SENSE credits are digital credits for features on The Collective Perspective. They have no cash value, can't be redeemed for cash, and can't be withdrawn, sold or used outside the Service.
What SENSE is not. SENSE is a limited, revocable licence to use credits on the Service. It is not money, currency, a deposit, a bank account, a payment instrument, a security, an investment, a cryptocurrency or property you own. It earns no interest and doesn't gain value.
SENSE at signup.6,000 SENSE: your full first month's 3,000 SENSE credits plus a 3,000 SENSE welcome bonus, added once when you have an active paid membership and pass the face scan.
Monthly member credits.3,000 SENSE, added on the last day of each month (UTC) while you're a verified member with an active membership, starting the month after you join. Nobody is credited twice in the same month.
Referrals.1,500 SENSE for each person you invite who signs up with your link and becomes a verified, paid member. It's paid once per person, never for yourself or a second account, once both you and the person you invited are paid members who passed the ID check and are in good standing. Invites made while accounts are free are saved and can qualify later under the same conditions; nothing is paid while either of you is on a free account, and saved invites don't expire for now. Waitlist invites carry over at launch. We may withhold or reverse referral SENSE obtained through fraud, duplicate accounts or spam.
Buying SENSE. Where offered, 10 SENSE per $1 by card through Stripe. You can hold up to 20,000 purchased SENSE and buy up to $2,000 of SENSE in 24 hours; a purchase over those limits is refunded instead of credited. Auto top-up is optional and off until you turn it on, and you can remove the saved card at any time.
Using SENSE. Only on the Service: for our features, a creator's SENSE subscription price, and (where switched on) sending SENSE to other verified members within daily limits. Unless we say otherwise, only bonus, monthly and received SENSE can be sent; purchased SENSE can be spent but not sent.
SENSE Savings. Where available, you can set aside parts of your own SENSE balance for goals you name, such as your kids or creator subscriptions (up to 10). Savings are just labels on your own SENSE: they are still SENSE credits with no cash value, earn no interest or bonuses, aren't a bank or deposit account, and belong to your account only. SENSE in savings can't be spent or sent until you move it back to your balance, which you can do anytime; it counts toward purchase limits, and refunds or chargebacks can take SENSE back from savings.
No cash-out, no expiry, no fees. SENSE can never be cashed out, redeemed for money or crypto, sold or traded for anything of value, or moved off the Service. Buying, selling or trading SENSE or accounts outside the Service isn't allowed. SENSE doesn't expire while your account is open, and there are no service, dormancy or inactivity fees.
Not for bills or businesses. SENSE can't be used to pay bills, rent, utilities, debts or any business outside the Service. Accepting SENSE elsewhere is a future goal that would need regulatory approval and a licensed partner, and it may never happen.
No liability for SENSE. Because SENSE has no cash value, to the fullest extent the law allows we aren't liable to you for any SENSE balance, or for SENSE that is frozen, reversed, corrected or ended under these Terms, and you can't claim money for it. Freezes, reversals and corrections may happen for lapsed memberships, fraud, refunds, chargebacks, errors, rule-breaking, legal requirements or account closure.
Corrections. We may fix errors, and we reverse SENSE that came from fraud, refunds or chargebacks. We may change how SENSE works, its uses, limits and the price of future purchases, with reasonable notice. SENSE ends when an account is closed or terminated, except where the law requires otherwise.
10. Creator communities
Members can run paid creator communities with subscriber-only posts, photos, videos and live rooms. When you subscribe, you're buying from the creator. Creators set a monthly price between $1 and $999 in USD and/or a price in SENSE. USD payments go straight to the creator's own Stripe account through Stripe Connect; 0% platform fee; Stripe card fees apply. SENSE payments go to the creator's SENSE wallet and can't be cashed out. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Refunds for creator subscriptions are covered in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Creators also agree to the Creator Terms.
11. AI features
Some features, such as the AI assistant and image generation, use an outside AI provider (currently Google's Gemini API). What you type into those features is sent to that provider to produce a reply. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or offensive; don't rely on it as legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. You're responsible for anything you choose to post, even if AI helped write it. See the Privacy notice for details.
12. Your content
You own what you post. You keep ownership of your posts, photos, videos, messages and other material ("Your Content").
Licence to us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, transmit and adapt (for example resize or transcode) Your Content only to run and improve the Service and to show it to the people you shared it with. The licence ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons (see the Privacy notice) and content others have already shared.
Your responsibility. You confirm you have the rights to post Your Content and that it follows these Terms and the Community Guidelines.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
try to get into other accounts or parts of the Service you're not allowed into, or disrupt or overload it;
scrape or harvest data from the Service without our written permission;
get around identity verification, bot protection, duplicate-account checks, limits or other safety measures;
use bots or automated accounts, or send spam; or
reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.
14. Safety, reports and the law
Reporting. You can report posts, comments, messages, profiles, communities and live rooms with the Report (flag) option. A person reviews reports. We don't tell the reported person who reported them.
Child safety: zero tolerance. Content that sexualizes or exploits a minor is removed, the account is terminated, and we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as U.S. law requires (18 U.S.C. 2258A). A child-safety report hides the item and locks the reported account straight away while we review it. We preserve the records of such reports for at least 1 year, as the law requires.
Intimate images shared without consent. If an intimate image of you was posted without your consent, report it in the app or email legal@thecollectiveperspective.com. We remove valid requests within 48 hours, as the TAKE IT DOWN Act requires, and make reasonable efforts to remove copies.
Law enforcement. We share member information with authorities only as described on our law enforcement page and in the Privacy notice: with valid legal process, in an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury, or when the law requires a report.
No automatic scanning yet. Today we find harmful content through member reports and our own review; uploads aren't automatically scanned. We don't promise that every harmful item is caught.
15. Copyright
Only post content you have the right to post. If you think something on the Service infringes your copyright, follow our Copyright Policy. We end the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. The Service itself, including its software, design and name, belongs to us or our licensors.
16. Calls and live rooms
Calls and live rooms run through LiveKit. We don't record them. If we ever offer recording, it will only happen after everyone in the room has agreed, with a visible recording indicator. Don't record or re-share other people's calls or rooms without the consent the law requires; Washington and some other states require everyone's consent.
17. Other services and links
The Service links to news articles and other websites we don't control, and it relies on providers such as Stripe and Didit, whose own terms may also apply to you. We aren't responsible for third-party websites or content, or for what third-party providers do or fail to do, including payment errors or delays at Stripe and verification errors or outages at Didit.
17A. Other members, meetups and your risk
Your interactions are your responsibility. We don't screen members' backgrounds or criminal records, and we don't control what members, creators or other people say or do on or off the Service. You're responsible for your interactions with other members, including messages, calls, live rooms, purchases from creators and any meeting in person.
Assumption of risk. Meeting people you know only online carries real risks. If you choose to meet anyone, you do so at your own risk; meet in public, tell someone you trust, and use your own judgement. Creator content is the creator's responsibility, not ours.
Release. To the fullest extent the law allows, you release us (including our owner personally and anyone who works for the Service) from claims, demands and damages of every kind, known and unknown, arising from disputes with or the conduct of other members, creators or third parties, including meetups, creator content, and services provided by Stripe, Didit or other providers. If you're a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." This release doesn't cover our own fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or anything the law doesn't allow to be released.
18. Suspension, termination and deleting your account
We may remove content, or limit, suspend or terminate an account, that breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines, creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or where the law requires it. Where it's practical and lawful, we'll tell you why and how to appeal (see the Community Guidelines).
If your account is terminated for breaking the rules, we don't refund your membership or SENSE, except where the law requires it.
Deleting your account. Email support@thecollectiveperspective.com from your account's email address and ask us to delete your account. When we delete an account we cancel its membership and its creator subscriptions so nothing renews. SENSE ends with the account. We keep only the records described in the Privacy notice, such as sanctions-screening records and safety records we're required to preserve.
You can stop using the Service at any time. Parts of these Terms that should last beyond the end of your account (for example payment obligations, disclaimers, limits of liability and dispute terms) continue to apply.
19. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE, SENSE CREDITS, AND ALL CONTENT AND FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY MEMBER IS WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Identity verification reduces, but doesn't eliminate, fake or duplicate accounts. We don't vouch for what members, creators or AI features say or do. Some places don't allow some of these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.
20. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) WE (INCLUDING OUR OWNER PERSONALLY) WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL OR SENSE, OR FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE CAUSED BY OTHER MEMBERS OR THIRD PARTIES, HOWEVER CAUSED AND EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ABOUT THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE LESSER OF (1) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (2) US$50.
These limits apply to every kind of claim (contract, tort including negligence, statute or anything else) and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They don't limit liability for our fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or any other liability or consumer right that can't be limited or excluded by law. Where the law doesn't allow a limit, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.
21. Indemnity
To the fullest extent the law allows, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless us, our owner and anyone who works for the Service from all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, fines, costs and reasonable legal fees arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your interactions with other members (including meetups), your creator community if you run one, your breach of these Terms or any law, or your violation of someone else's rights. We may take control of the defence of any such claim, and you'll cooperate with us. This doesn't apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and it doesn't override consumer protections that can't be waived where you live.
22. Governing law and disputes
Washington law governs these Terms and any dispute about the Service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Talk to us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly. Please email support@thecollectiveperspective.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it before you start a case.
Courts. Any dispute will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead if it qualifies.
No arbitration. These Terms have no arbitration agreement.
Individual claims only. To the fullest extent the law allows, you and we each bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative action, and no court may combine claims of more than one person. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim goes ahead in court in Washington, but the rest of these Terms still applies.
One year to bring a claim. To the fullest extent the law allows, any claim about the Service or these Terms must be filed within one year after it arose, or it's permanently barred. Where local law sets a minimum period that can't be shortened, that period applies.
Local consumer law. If you live outside the United States, choosing Washington law and courts doesn't take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts if the law gives you that right.
22A. Members in the EU, UK and elsewhere
Your 14-day right to withdraw. If you live in the EU, the UK or another country with a similar law, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online contract. Membership is a digital service that starts straight away. When you sign up, you tick a box asking us to start your membership immediately and acknowledge that, once it starts, you lose your right to withdraw for a monthly plan (where your local law allows that) or keep only a proportionate refund where your local law requires it.
Yearly plans. Separately, our own policy gives everyone a full refund of a yearly membership if you ask within 14 days of the charge (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy).
Your privacy rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR are described in the Privacy notice.
23. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For a material change, we'll email you or tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using the Service after that date means you accept the change. If you don't agree, you can cancel your membership and stop using the Service before then. The date at the top shows when these Terms last changed.
24. General
These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. Severability: if any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable in any place, it's enforced to the greatest extent allowed there (or limited to the minimum extent needed) and the rest of the Terms stays in full force. Everything in these Terms applies only to the fullest extent permitted by law: nothing in them excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away consumer rights that the law where you live says can't be waived. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to. You can't transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a company that takes over the Service, such as our planned Washington LLC. You agree that we can send you notices and records electronically, by email or in the app. We aren't responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
