Copyright Policy
Effective October 21, 2026
We respect copyright and respond to notices of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Send copyright notices and counter-notices to legal@thecollectiveperspective.com. Members can also use the Report option and choose Copyright.
1. Reporting infringement
If you believe content on The Collective Perspective infringes your copyright, email legal@thecollectiveperspective.com with "Copyright notice" in the subject and include:
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine);
- the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- the content you want removed and where it is, ideally a link or the member's @handle;
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.
We'll remove or disable the content promptly when a notice is complete, and tell the member who posted it. Sending a knowingly false notice can make you liable for damages.
2. Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or you have the right to use it, email legal@thecollectiveperspective.com with "Counter-notice" in the subject and include: your signature; the removed content and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and phone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if you're outside the U.S., any judicial district where we can be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice.
We'll send your counter-notice to the person who complained. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've filed a court action, we may restore the content 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice.
3. Repeat infringers
We end the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances. Because each account is one verified person, that ban applies to the person.
4. Trademarks and other rights
For trademark, privacy or other complaints that aren't about copyright, use the Report option or email legal@thecollectiveperspective.com.
